The state and the city will finalize their budgets in the coming months. Adequate CUNY funding for the university, its students and the PSC-CUNY contract hangs in the balance. Governor Andrew Cuomo included $240 million in his Executive Budget “to support retroactive salary increases,” and we need to hold state leaders to this promise and ensure that proposed state funding cuts remain off the table.
More money — not less — should be invested in CUNY. Concerted pressure on lawmakers is crucial in the coming weeks. Your university, your students and your contract depend on it.
