Using Google to
search the PSC.
Google
is an extraordinarily fast and powerful search tool. It will
generally produce hits (results) from our PSC Website in less then one
second. For example, if you did a search for "contract bulletin
1," the first hit would read:
bulletin1
... CONTRACT BULLETIN #1 REPORT ON AUGUST 23
NEGOTIATIONS The...
...work. go to | HOME | CONTRACT | BULLETIN #2 (CONTRACT...
www.psc-cuny.org/bulletin1.htm - 10k - Cached
- Similar
pages
If
you then clicked "bulletin 1" at the top of the entry,
you would go directly to the page containing your search item. But
if you clicked "cached" at the bottom of the entry,
Google's will provide snapshot of this PSC page with the search items
highlighted. And if you clicked "similar pages",
Google will show you pages like the one designated.
You can search for the
same item on the entire World Wide Web by clicking the radio button
"search WWW."
TIPS ON USING SEARCH ENGINES
USING
OUR INTERNAL PSC SEARCH ENGINE
While the Google Search Engine
is
powerful and very fast, it may not necessarily have the the latest
postings to the PSC Web stored in its data base. Our own internal
search engine, while slower and not as refined, nonetheless has access to
updated versions of the PSCweb. If the Google search of the Web does
not yield full, up-to-date results, use the search tool below.
