RF Field rally for fair contract, LAGCC, 9/28/10

Research Foundation employees and their supporters held rallies for a fair contract at City Tech, LaGuardia and the Grad Center during the week of September 27th.

RF employees do the work to implement City, State and federal contracts worth millions of dollars. With your support in this final push, we can get the RF to realize that now is the time for a fair contract.

UPDATE -- CITY TECH RALLY

RF workers at CIty Tech rally in driving rain on 9/27/10

September 24. CUNY Research Foundation (RF) workers at City Tech picketed and marched in a driving rainstorm Monday afternoon to press their demands for a fair contract. They were joined by library and teaching faculty, CLTs and several members of a SUNY-Sony Brook union local.

“It was rousing to have people here from so many areas,” said Jay Klokker, an RF City Tech worker who teaches English as a Second Language at the City Tech’s Adult Learning Center. “I hope this will be the nudge that the Research Foundation needs to settle this in a fair way.”

“If we all support one another in our different struggles, we can get a better contract in the end,” added Junior Tidal, a City Tech library faculty member who joined the picket in front of the Namm Building during his lunch break.

CUNY RF workers at LaGuardia and the Graduate Center followed up with rallies on Tuesday and Wednesday, September 28th and 29th.
