Eric Schneiderman won the hotly contested race for Attorney General and Gustavo Rivera beat incumbent State Senator Pedro Espada by an almost two-to-one margin. Other PSC-backed candidates who won include State Senators Bill Perkins and Velmanette Montgomery, both of whom faced challengers financed by wealthy charter school supporters, and Francisco Moya, who won an open seat in Assembly District 39 in Queens.
