How Can We Win?

The initial step was to press CUNY to make funding adjunct healthcare a priority. CUNY took an important first step at the 9/26/11 meeting of its Board of Trustees by announcing that it would add adjunct healthcare to its budget request. But that is only a first step -- and all the more reason to keep pressure on the university to push aggressively for this funding.

Most immediately, testify at the CUNY Board hearing on Monday, November 21. Members who wish to testify must sign up with the Board Secretary at (212) 794-5450 by Friday, November 18 at 4:30 PM or email Fran Clark at the PSC.

Here's how we can continue that pressure.

With Your PSC Chapter

• Distribute buttons, stickers & posters
• Pass resolutions in support of adjunct health insurance
• Request a meeting with the college president
• Continue to collect petition signatures
• Recruit colleagues to wear t-shirts or buttons
• Hold a "die-in"
• Organize an informational picket
• Hold a rally
• Teach in surgical masks and gloves
• Hold an open mic session

• Join union actions on your campus

• Discuss the campaign in department meetings
