Re: Teach CUNY, Taylor Law Analysis
The
lesson for “Teach CUNY” is this: classes must not be cancelled. Nothing
would prevent combining classes, but our concern must principally focus on a
reduction in teaching hours. I would have faculty members focus their “Teach
CUNY” talks on the course they are teaching, i.e., how attacks on CUNY Faculty
have impacted the teaching of history, science, etc. I believe that if this is
done, the issue moves into the realm of “academic freedom” and “free
speech”, and keeps clear of a “concerted stoppage at work”.
