A
PUBLIC UNIVERSITY
THE IMAGINATION OF THE CITY
A City Council
proclamation declared March 26th as CUNY Day.
This year,
with public higher education in NY State under
massive attack, CUNY
Day took on added importance.
Events, sponsored by
the PSC, student and campus groups, were held at most CUNY
colleges. Campus activities focused on mobilizations against
budget cuts and tuition hikes and
for tax equity.
The
materials developed for CUNY Day remain relevant as faculty,
staff, students, alumni and supporters of CUNY continue
organizing for quality and affordable public higher education.
