An impressive membership drive by the PSC’s Graduate Center chapter signed up around 200 members in just a few weeks. Many of the chapter's new members are graduate assistants.

City College Chemistry Professor George John is working to develop a lithium-ion battery, a type commonly used in personal electronics, that is not made with toxic heavy metals. The key to this environmentally friendly alternative is a plant-based material that can function as a battery electrode.
