Negotiations Committee

The Committee on Contract Negotiations, “the bargaining team,” has primary responsibility for negotiating the collective bargaining agreement that covers salaries, workload and other terms and conditions of employment for faculty and staff at CUNY. The bargaining team is a subcommittee of the union’s Executive Council; it is responsible for developing initial contract proposals and negotiating the collective bargaining agreement with the University. Both the proposals and the final agreement are subject to approval, first by the Executive Council and then by the Delegate Assembly. In addition, the final agreement is tentative until it is ratified by the membership and approved by the CUNY Board of Trustees.

The PSC also negotiates collective bargaining agreements for the workers the union represents at the CUNY Research Foundation. Special bargaining teams composed of Research Foundation members lead these negotiations

The contract demands for the upcoming PSC-CUNY contract, developed after consultation with the chapters and approved by the Delegate Assembly at its 11/4/10 meeting, are available in a supplement published in the December 2010 Clarion.
