Increasingly, universities—including public
universities—are providing paid family leave benefits to their faculty and
staff. The PSC is gathering information about the needs of our members at CUNY,
as we campaign for the inclusion of paid family leave and support for childcare
in the contract. The union has demanded paid leave to support both mothers and
fathers, both biological and adopted children, and the care of other immediate
family members who are aging or seriously ill.
