Whereas, PSC-CUNY adopted a resolution in support of City Council Resolution 909, and in opposition to the USA Patriot Act, and

Whereas, the USA Patriot Act is a set of repressive measures that attack fundamental rights of free association and speech, and

Whereas, PSC-CUNY supports actions in opposition to the repression of civil liberties and civil rights, and

Whereas, PSC-CUNY vigorously defends Academic Freedom, and

Whereas, there is growing national and local opposition to the ACT,

and

Whereas, the Legislation Committee approved of the concept of a fall campus-based event, Council on Campus; therefore be it

Resolved, that the Executive Council endorse and support Council on Campus in order to increase awareness of and opposition to the USA Patriot Act and in support of City Council Resolution 909.
