ADJUNCT JOB SECURITY
So many of our adjuncts have been working for years to help our students, yet they are subject to job insecurity each semester—not knowing if they will be reappointed. Isn’t it time to give these long-serving adjuncts job security? PSC contract demand 16 calls on CUNY to develop and enforce a seniority preference system for part-time teaching staff.
ADJUNCTS IN THE CITY HEALTH PLAN
Part-time workers from other city agencies are eligible to participate in the NYC health insurance plans. CUNY has not yet agreed to support the PSC demand to transfer adjuncts’ health insurance costs to the city. Right now the PSC Welfare Fund bears the burden, hurting both adjuncts and full-timers.
